WILBITropical Wild Bee Product (Honey, Bread Bee Pollen and Beeswax)Quality of Indonesian forest honey (Apis dorsata) has a distinctive value to the beekeeping honey (Apis mellifera and Apis cerana) . One of them is having a higher content of antioxidants than the beekeeping honey, but the forest honey having high water content (22% - 24%) because of the A. dorsata nest is open to the air. Indonesian forest honey can be regarded as organic honey because all the nectar extracted from flowers of the forest. This is in contrast to the honey from beekeeping that is often given food supplements when lean times come. More over the honey from this wild bee has higher levels of antioxidants than the beekeeping honey and also contain the pollen so as to improve the nutritional value when compared to the beekeeping honey. We offer 3 types of forest honey yellow, red, and black colour. Another type of wild bee honey is bitter honey. This bitter honey derived from malapari flower nectar (Pongamia pinnata).However, the utilization of forest bee products so far confined only to honey. Whereas, there are other products that dumped by the forest honey farmer. The products are the bread bee pollen and beeswax. Potential bee pollen bee bread forests in Riau Province reached 2 tons each month and just wasted offhand. According to the results of laboratory analysis showed that the content of protein in bee pollen of wild bee bread account for 20% -38% with an average of 30% (depending on the type of forest plants and forest flower season). Even the number of amino acids contained in the bread bee pollen reaches 20 amino acids (including the 8 essential amino acids). Moreover the wild bee bread containts 12 vitamins., 28 minerals, enzymes, coenzymes, fatty acids absolute 14, and 11 carbohydrates. We also offer the beeswax of wild bee that is usually used in cosmetics industry (we exported to Malaysia) and used as nest foundation of A. mellifera nest.
