SEOUL PROPOLIS is a bio-venture company that was inaugurated in 2003 when the Korean government gave its approval for the firms its new technology at the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute(national nuclear R and D research institution) in the Daedeok Valley research complex.

Seoul Propolis has secured cutting-edge radiation technology that can be applied to propolis and they successfully developed the new technology with a collaboration among industry, university and research institute, not to mention, with the support from the Small and Medium Business Administration.

Seoul Propolis now develops and supplies raw materials and finished products that make the inherent physiological functions of propolis resistant to bacteria, oxidation, inflammation and raise immunity levels so to be more effectively applied to a broad scopeof products, including medicine, functional food, cosmetics and life necessities, animal medicines and Feed Additives.

Propolis contains such medical treatment composition as flavonoids, vitamins, minerals and polysaccharide. While flavonoids are easily soluble in alcohol and are insoluble in water, minerals and polysaccharide are insoluble in alcohol and they are easily soluble in water. Vitamins are soluble or insoluble in water depending on their nature. For this reason, extracting with an [alcohol + water] method is the best way to extract an efficient composition.
