Company Description

Sedia S.A. was established in 1978 and was initially called CHROMIOMETAL as it was involved in the manufacturing of metal bases for office chairs.

In 1984 the company begins the production of office chairs as finished products and in 1987 sets up its new owned factory in order to cope with the increasing business demands.

In 1992 the company is transformed into SEDIA S.A and a new building is constructed that embodies the production premises.

Investments in machinery, automations and information systems was the following indispensable step that made SEDIA being one of the biggest office chairs production plants in Greece standing nowadays at the second position.
Today the headquarters and the production of the company are situated in Thessaloniki, Greece, covering a total area of 5.500 m2 and employing 65 people.

The main activity of the company is the manufacture and trading of all types of office chairs, of various seating systems such as seats for airports, railway and bus stations, auditoriums, cinemas, theatres, universities and of conference desk systems.
SEDIA is also specialized in the manufacturing of seats for trains, buses, boats and coaches.

The company is certified with EN ISO 9001:2000, the European standards for the design, development and manufacturing of its products while special models of seating are certified with EN ISO 354-85 for sound absorption, for resistance to fatigue, to vertical force and for resistance of seat back to fatigue.

The sales network in Greece is about 40 official representatives located in the main Greek cities. Except for this authorized distribution channel, the company is cooperating with over 400 stores around Greece.
