Introduction of GaonengOur company, a high-tech enterprise established in 1994, specializes in the manufacture of composite insulators for electric power and electrical railways. Through 15-year development, our company has been developing into one of the largest composite insulator manufacturers in China and the sales value for 2009 was about RMB 290 million (USD40 million).We attribute the rapid and sound development of our company to the facts that on one hand we have always been giving the qualities of our products top priority and on the other hand technological innovation is our companyâ??s constant pursuits. These enable our company to be always in the leading position in the field of composite insulator in China, and to be advanced in some aspects even in the world.The products, we produce, include 10kV/70kN to 1, 000kV/530kN ***** andñ500kV &ñ800kV ***** composite insulators for electric power, and 27.5kV composite insulators for electrical railways.Up to now, there have been over 3.0 million pieces of composite insulators, supplied by our company, in operation in and outside China. Of the 3.0 million pieces insulators, over 130, 000 pieces are extra high voltage (XHV) composite insulators (500kV and above), which make us the No.1 in China and even in the world in terms of the number of XHV composite insulators in operation. We have supplied our insulators for almost all national key projects of electric power transmission of China such as Three-Gorge Project, ***** power transmission projects and power grid inter-connecting project etc.State Grid Co. of China is now constructing its 1000kV transmission line which will be the first 1000kV transmission line for commercial operation worldwide. In 2007, our company won 2 of the 4 packages for the 1000kV composite insulators which amounted to 3600 pieces. Moreover, we supplied 2080 pieces of 750kV composite insulators in 2007 to State Grid Co. of China. In addition, in 2007 we supplied nearly 14, 000 pieces of 400kV/160&120kN composite insulators to Power Grid Co. of India Ltd, which was the first time that composite insulators were used on EHV transmission line in India.Our company was also the first company whose composite insulators were used for electrical railways in China as earlier as 1998. There are now over 160, 000 pieces of insulators operating on electrical railways across China.The earliest insulators of our company for electric power have been operating reliably and safely for nearly 13 years, and some 500kV insulators nearly 10 years. The insulators, removed from lines for inspection after 10 years of operation, still showed good performance mechanically and electrically.Our company has always attached great importance to the research and development of composite insulators. Besides the normal type tests on the 10kV-1000kV ***** and ñ500kV& ñ800kV ***** insulators, we have also done lots of other research tests, including 5000-hour ageing test at KEMA lab, pollutant accumulation tests, electric field distribution tests, ice-covering tests, accelerated weathering tests, salt-fog pollution withstand tests, long-term mechanical performance tests, hydrophobicity recovery tests, and bonding between core rod and rubber tests etc.Particularly worth mentioning is that in 2005 we conducted pollution withstand test under full voltage (ñ826kV) on our ñ800kV ***** composite insulators of full length (about 8750mm) at STRI lab in Sweden, which was the first and the only test even in the world as of today. Through this test we got the fundamental dimensions for ñ800kV insulators such as creepage distance, arc distance and weather shed profile etc. This test also provided some important data and information for the design of Chinaâ??s firstñ800kV ***** transmission line, of which the construction is under way.The composite insulators of our company are manufactured by the technologies of housing injection-molding and end-fitting crimping, which are the most advanced and most acceptable by electric utilities worldwide. In respect of production capacity, we have altogether 21 injection-molding machines, which can produce 80, 000 pieces of 110kV insulators or equivalents monthly. The injection volumes of our injection molding machines range from 2000cc to 40, 000cc, and the longest insulator, we can produce in one shot now, is as long as 3.5 meters.The inspection centre of our company has been furnished with complete inspecting and testing facilities such as 3, 600kV steep wave impulse voltage generator, 1, 500kV power frequency testing facility, 15m/2200kN tension load machine, 5m/25kN bending & torsional testing machine and a well-equipped physical and chemical test laboratory etc. We have strict quality-monitoring and inspection procedures for manufacturing process and for final products, and our company has been strictly implementing and maintaining a quality management system of ISO 9001 since 1998.
