Comercial Quimica Sarasa S.L. (COQUISA) is the union of two companies with a great tradition in the production of natural tartaric acid: Productos Tartaricos Sarasa and Tartaricos y Derivados.

Productos Tartaricos Sarasa (SARASA) belonged from the 1930
Tartaricos y Derivados S.A. (TYDSA) was founded in 1977
In 1993 Mr. Alfonso Moreno Marin took over Sarasa and founded the company Comercial Quimica Sarasa, S.L. Three years later he enlarged the company buying up TYDSA; in that way forming what is today the largest producing company of natural tartaric acid which exists in the world, with an annual production capacity of 12,000 MT between the two plants.

THE PRODUCT
Natural Tartaric Acid
The natural tartaric acid appears in nature in free state or more frequently in form of acid potassium salts and in a lesser proportion as calcium salts in the mulberries, cucumbers and to a high degree in grapes.
Comercial Quimica Sarasa S.L. produces a completely natural tartaric acid, whose process of manufacture consists in the transformation of its natural tartaric salts (raw materials) with sulphuric acid and later purification.
DESCRIPTION

- Physical Aspect: Tartaric acid occurs as colorless or translucent crystals or as a white fine to granular crystalline powder. It is odorless and has an acid taste.
- Tartaric acid is stable to air and light.
